Unique combination of technical properties - Kapton® polyimide film
Polyimide film is particularly suitable for use at very high temperatures, as films made of other plastics usually cannot withstand these temperatures. The Kapton® films in our range Kapton® HN and Kapton® CRC can both be used for temperature class C (200 °C). Short-term you can even use Kapton® HN at -269 °C up to +400 °C. Additionally, Kapton® polyimide film is flame retardant according to UL 94 V-0 and self-extinguishing.

Our polyimide film SynTherm® H is comparable to Kapton® HN in terms of thermal and electrical properties and also has individual and system UL approvals from UL. In contrary to Kapton® HN, our SynTherm® H is mono-axially orientated, hence, you will have to make minor compromises in terms of mechanical properties. If your requirements in terms of mechanical properties are lower, you should find out more about SynTherm® H polyimide film and consider its possible use, as the cost benefits are enormous.
